The Jack London Foundation (JLF) is very excited to invite you and your Jack London friends to join us for a pre-release screening of a new, full-feature film entitled "Burning Daylight". (An HD version can be viewed at www.reverson.ca/documents; click on the file named "Burning Daylight Trailer".)
The movie's director, Sanzhar Sultanov, an avid Jack London fan, has been reading London's works since he was nine years old. The film takes place in the 1920s in New York City, with the plot painting a vivid picture of the human vanity, duplicity, and corruption that has been glorified throughout the ages.
Sanzhar states, "This is the beauty & genius of Jack London--he was an enlightened and visionary writer. He wrote about human behavior . . . and his stories are timeless because people haven't changed. On top of that, his dialogue is so beautifully written, the evolution of each story unfolds so naturally, so effortlessly I was fortunate to have such an incredible source when writing the screenplay. Thank you, Mr. London!"
The screening is scheduled for Monday, August 9, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the historic Sebastiani Theater in Sonoma. A question/answer session with the film’s director will follow the film.
This exciting project, which is a fundraiser for the Foundation's annual writing contest, is expected to generate a tremendous response. Because we have limited tickets available, please send in your check today to ensure your reservation.
